Stadium Bans and Heavy Sanctions: AS FAR and Raja Punished After Classico Chaos

The central disciplinary commission of the National Professional Football League has handed down severe disciplinary sanctions following the incidents that marked the match between AS FAR (Royal Army) and Raja of Casablanca on 30 April 2026, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah complex in Rabat.
The decisions came after a review of the reports by the referee and the match delegate, which documented acts of violence and mutual chaos between the supporters of both teams, resulting in damage to public facilities and property, as well as injuries among the security forces, in a scene deemed damaging to the image of national football.
The commission decided to sanction AS FAR with five matches behind closed doors, while Raja will play three matches without spectators, with both penalties taking immediate effect.
The sanctions also included a ban on the travel of both clubs' supporters for the remainder of the 2025-2026 season, a measure aimed at curbing the recurrence of such incidents.
In the same vein, the commission ordered both clubs to repair the damage caused to the Prince Moulay Abdellah complex, following an assessment to determine the extent of the losses, with the repair costs to be split equally between the two parties.
The commission also decided to bar AS FAR from hosting its matches at the same complex until the end of the current season, with the exception of continental and international fixtures.
In addition, both clubs were each fined 200,000 dirhams over the unsportsmanlike behavior of their fans.
In closing its ruling, the commission affirmed the right of both clubs to appeal, in accordance with the applicable legal procedures and within the prescribed deadlines.
