Carlos Queiroz Appointed New Black Stars Coach Ahead of 2026 World Cup

The Ghana Football Association officially announced on Monday the appointment of veteran Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz as the new manager of the Ghana national team, to lead the Black Stars through the upcoming challenges, foremost among them the 2026 World Cup finals.
This appointment comes as part of the Ghana Football Association's efforts to strengthen technical stability and benefit from the vast experience Queiroz holds on the international stage, particularly after having previously overseen several major national teams and led them at World Cup tournaments.
Queiroz will take on the task of leading the Ghana national team in the coming phase, with the "Black Stars" counting on his extensive experience to build a competitive squad capable of making a strong impression at the World Cup finals.
The Ghana Football Association confirmed on its official website that signing Queiroz is part of a long-term project aimed at developing the national team's performance and restoring its prestige on the African and international stage, drawing on his vast experience in managing national teams during major competitions.
