The FRMF reveals the details of Ezzalzouli and Aguerd's injuries and confirms they will miss the World Cup

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has issued an official statement revealing the latest updates on the fitness of the national team's players, just days before the start of the 2026 World Cup finals.
The Federation affirmed that the players' general health is reassuring, with most of them continuing their preparations in good conditions and according to the set programme, in line with the importance of this stage and the expectations of the Moroccan public.
On the other hand, the technical staff suffered a painful blow with the confirmation that Abdessamad Ezzalzouli will miss the World Cup, after sustaining a sprain to his right knee accompanied by a tear of the medial collateral ligament — an injury that requires a long period of treatment and rehabilitation.
The Federation also clarified that Nayef Aguerd, despite the improvement in his condition in recent weeks, will not be physically and competitively ready to take part in the tournament in the best conditions, which forced his exclusion from the final squad.
Based on this, national team coach Mohamed Ouahbi decided to call up Amine Sbai and Marouane Saadane to join the official 26-man squad, after they showed readiness and commitment during the latest training camp.
The Federation concluded its statement by affirming that it would continue to monitor the players' health, wishing Ezzalzouli and Aguerd a speedy recovery, and stressing that they will remain part of the group and will continue to support their teammates during this global event.
