IR Tanger and Olympique Lyonnais Move Toward Strategic Partnership to Develop the Club's Academy

The academy of Ittihad Riadi de Tanger (IR Tanger) has recently experienced significant momentum in its cooperation with the French club Olympique Lyonnais, one of the most renowned European clubs for its training academies, as part of a project to develop the training structure of Moroccan football.
This move came after the first visit by an Olympique Lyonnais delegation to the city of Tanger, dedicated to conducting a comprehensive on-site audit of the club's academy, with the aim of assessing the infrastructure and the technical and administrative working procedures, and of identifying ways to enhance performance and develop the training system.
In this context, two specialized training sessions were organized, marking the first stage of this cooperation. During these sessions, expertise was exchanged between the two sides, with a focus on modern training methodologies and on the systems for developing young players in line with European standards.
The latest session, held last week, was regarded as a pivotal milestone in the course of this partnership, as it made it possible to act on the conclusions of the diagnosis and review carried out in coordination between officials of the two clubs, in preparation for laying the foundations of a sustainable and ambitious cooperation.
Through this project, IR Tanger is counting on Olympique Lyonnais's experience in grassroots training in order to raise the level of the club's academy and produce a new generation of players capable of representing the team at the highest levels, in line with the club's future vision.
This move reflects a shared desire between the two parties to build a model partnership in the field of football development, based on the exchange of expertise and the strengthening of grassroots work, serving the growth of the game at both the local and international levels.
