World Cup 2026: New Jersey to Host Morocco's Training Base

Mikie Sherrill, Governor of the state of New Jersey, has announced that the Morocco national football team has chosen the state as the official site of its training camp during the 2026 World Cup finals, a move that reflects confidence in the sporting infrastructure the region has to offer.
The Atlas Lions will be based at the "Pingry School" facilities in the town of Basking Ridge, where Mohamed Ouahbi's men will carry out their preparations throughout the competition, while benefiting from the geographical proximity to "MetLife Stadium", which will host their first match of the tournament.
The Morocco national team is expected to open its campaign with a tough clash against Brazil on 13 June, before heading to Boston to face Scotland, and then to Atlanta to take on Haiti, in the group stage.
This announcement comes just a few weeks before the start of the global football showpiece and carries a historic significance, as it coincides with the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America, recalling the historic ties that bind it to Morocco, the first country to recognise its independence.
The Morocco national team hopes to make the most of these ideal conditions to deliver a standout campaign and continue to shine on the international stage during this global event.
