Morocco's national weightlifting team delivered a strong performance at the African Championship and the Mediterranean Cup of weightlifting, held in the city of Ismailia, Egypt, relying on seven athletes: four lifters and three masters lifters. They produced an outstanding tally by winning 22 medals, including 07 silver and 15 bronze, while improving the lifts and output of most of the squad. This continental stage in Egypt is part of the international fixtures contested by the Moroccan champions with the aim of qualifying for the upcoming Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. The grassroots work led by the Weightlifting Federation, headed by its president Mr. Kamal Lahlou, aims to broaden the base of participation through clubs, associations and regional centres, while honouring its commitments toward the national ministry and the Moroccan National Olympic Committee.
