Patrice Motsepe: Firm Commitment to Morocco and Major Changes Coming to CAF Regulations

Upon his arrival in Morocco, Patrice Motsepe, president of the Confederation of African Football, reaffirmed his deep personal commitment to the Moroccan people and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, as well as to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God grant him victory.
Motsepe expressed his great disappointment at how the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final unfolded, noting that the Confederation of African Football is currently working to implement major changes to the systems and regulations governing continental competitions.
The CAF president explained that these reforms aim to address a number of shortcomings that have recently emerged and to ensure the development of African football in a way that strengthens transparency and credibility within the competitions.
These statements come as part of CAF's efforts to improve the governance of its competitions and to prevent the recurrence of the problems that sparked controversy in the recent period.
