Pedro Sanchez Condemns Racist Behaviour: "It Must Not Happen Again"

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez described what happened during the friendly match between the Spain national team and their Egyptian counterparts as "unacceptable," stressing that such behaviour must not happen again.
In a post on his official "X" account, Sanchez said: "We cannot allow an unruly minority to tarnish the image of Spain, a diverse, open and tolerant country. The same goes for its national team and its supporters."
Pedro Sanchez added: "All my support to the athletes who suffered from it, and a salute of appreciation to all those who help, through their respect, to make our country better."
The statement comes in the wake of the racist incidents that marked the match, which sparked widespread reactions at both the domestic and international levels, underlining the importance of promoting the values of respect and tolerance in sport and society.
