Doping: AS FAR Announces Three-Month Suspension of Zine El Abidine Drak

The Sports Association of the Royal Armed Forces (AS FAR) informs the public that, within the framework of the periodic checks in force in the area of anti-doping, it was notified by the African anti-doping commission of an abnormal test result concerning the player Zine El Abidine Drak, following one of the matches of the African competitions.
Pursuant to the decision of the disciplinary committee of the Confederation of African Football, issued on 8 April 2026, it was decided to suspend the player Zine El Abidine Drak for a period of three (3) months, effective from 9 April 2026.
In this context, AS FAR stresses that the player showed full cooperation with the various competent bodies and complied with all the applicable procedures, in a spirit of responsibility and transparency, explaining that the incident was due to his taking a product without knowing that it contained banned substances.
The association also emphasizes that this case remains individual and isolated, and that it in no way reflects the professional path of the player, who has distinguished himself throughout his career by his discipline and commitment, on and off the pitch.
It is worth noting that the player has previously undergone anti-doping tests on several occasions, whether at the national level or during continental participations, without any violation ever being recorded against him.
AS FAR renews its affirmation of its strict adherence to the laws and regulations of anti-doping, as well as its constant commitment to instilling the principles of integrity and professionalism within all its components.
The association will furthermore take all the measures it deems appropriate in this matter, in accordance with its internal regulations and the legal provisions in force.
